The Venue
The summer school will be held at the Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques de Cargèse
(IESC). The Institute is located near the village of Cargèse,
on the west coast of Corsica, 75 km north of Ajaccio. The
IESC provides a relaxing and enjoyable environment that optimizes

RegistrationThere is no registration fee for this summer school. Accomodation and lunches are included, but not dinners. Housing is “chez l’habitant” in Cargèse or at the institute. Participants are responsible for their travel and dinners costs. Housing will be provided for 10 nights (from Thursday the 12th to Sunday the 22nd). Any extension is unfortunately not possible.The number of participants is very limited because of Covid-19 (all participants will be hosted in single rooms), participants thus have to go through a “pre-application” procedure. Pre-application is now closed. Only those participants for which confirmation was confirmed are thus invited to register. The summer school is part of the CNRS "formation permanente" programme, which means that CNRS researchers attending the school can claim their travel expenses to CNRS. Getting to Cargèse and backAjaccio is the nearest airport to Cargèse and is connected by several daily flights to Paris and other European cities. Please visit the Ajaccio airport website for a list of airlines serving the area. For other means of traveling to Cargèse visit the town's webpage.There will be a bus arranged for the summer-school taking participants from
the Ajaccio airport to Cargese. The bus will leave Ajaccio Airport at
4:30pm on the 12th, arriving in Cargese around 5:30pm.
If some participants must take a later flight (i.e. arriving in Ajaccio
after 4:30pm on the 12 Alternatively Cargèse can be reached by public bus and by taxi. The bus station, which is also the maritime station, can be reached via shuttle from Ajaccio airport. The Ajaccio airport webpage also provides information on local bus timetables. Taxi service from the airport to Cargèse costs approximately 90 euros for normal transfer and 115 euros for early, late and non working day transfer and takes less than one hour. To ensure this price, one needs to reserve the taxi in advance through the IESC Covid-19 constraintsThe "pass-sanitaire" is now required in France, i.e. either full vaccination or a regular PCR/antigenic test (at the moment valid 72h).
