The Venue The summer school will be held at the Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques de Cargèse (IESC). The Institute is located near the village of Cargèse, on the west coast of Corsica, 75 km north of Ajaccio. The IESC provides a relaxing and enjoyable environment that optimizes fruitful scientific interactions. The institute is located close to the sea and at walking distance from Cargèse. Participants are responsible for their travel and dinners costs. Housing will be provided for 12 nights (from Monday the 19th to Saturday the 1st). Any extension is unfortunately not possible. The participation fees are €687 for a shared room (there is also the possibility of a very limited number of single rooms at an extra cost €807, please contact us very early if you would like one. Shared room is strongly recommended to allow for more participants). Again these include accomodation for 12 nights, lunches during work days, coffee breaks, bus transfers and conference diner and are heavily subsidised. They will be payable on site using Visa (no cash, no Amex), an official receipt will be issued. The number of participants being limited and the meeting being heavily subsidised, participants have to go through a “pre-registration” procedure. Please fill the pre-registration form to apply. Confirmation will be given within a few days on a first-come first-served basis. The summer school is part of the CNRS "formation permanente" programme, which means that CNRS researchers attending the school will have their travel expenses and participation fees covered (i.e. not on their lab money). Please contact us for further information. Getting to Cargèse and back Ajaccio is the nearest airport to Cargèse and is connected by several daily flights to Paris and other European cities. Please visit the Ajaccio airport website for a list of airlines serving the area. For other means of traveling to Cargèse visit the town's webpage. Arrival will take place on Monday the 19th of June. The lectures will take place during the first week from Tuesday to Saturday, and on the second week from Monday to Friday. Departure will take place on Saturday the 1st of July in the morning. On Monday the 19th of June, with a bus arranged for the summer-school taking participants from the Ajaccio airport to Cargese. The bus will leave Ajaccio Airport around 4 or 5pm. If some participants must take a later flight (i.e. arriving in Ajaccio after 4:30pm on the 19th), please inform us. There will also be a bus back from Cargese to Ajaccio airport at the end of the summer-school on Saturday the 1st of July, leaving at 8am (arriving at the airport around 9am). Alternatively Cargèse can be reached by public bus and by taxi. The bus station, which is also the maritime station, can be reached via shuttle from Ajaccio airport. The Ajaccio airport webpage also provides information on local bus timetables. Taxi service from the airport to Cargèse costs approximately 120 euros for normal transfer and 160 euros for early, late and non working day transfer and takes less than one hour.
